ATTRIBUTES:
- High Hockey IQ – Strong ability to read and react based on play, changing puck movement and adapting to opponent decisions
- Hockey Vision and Passing – Excellent at facilitating breakouts, NZ regroups, and offense by skating to find time and space, controlling possession, and making strong accurate passes to open teammates.
- Strong Defensive Play – Uses physical size, skating and strength in different scenarios such as forcing opposing players wide, tying up in front of the net, pining on boards / preventing slot entry.
- Offensive Skills – Often facilitates zone entry by rushing the puck up ice or by joining the rush after setting up teammates to attack offensively. Also jumps down from the blue line as an attacker driving the net.
- Power Play – Sets up as the top point player on the power play distributing passes, directing traffic, and initiating plays to creating scoring chances by drawing defenders and opening lanes for quick shots or passes to the net-front. Often sets up high-danger plays from the blue line.
- Penalty Kill – Strong defensively applying pressure, disciplined stick work to disrupt passing lanes, smart positioning to protect the crease/slot, courageous shot-blocking, effective clearing of the puck, excellent communication, and high work ethic to force turnovers and prevent the power play from setting up or scoring.
- Height- 5’10” – Uses physical size and strength in different scenarios (Ex: tying up in front of net, pining on boards / preventing slot entry)
- Hockey IQ – My ability of knowing different forechecks, and setups to react and form decisions based on what our opponent is doing on the ice.
